What We’re Building Today

Today we complete Module 1 by instrumenting our distributed log cluster with comprehensive performance measurement and optimization capabilities:

  • Real-time performance monitoring tracking throughput (events/sec), latency (p50, p95, p99), and resource utilization across all cluster nodes

  • Intelligent load testing framework simulating production traffic patterns with configurable burst scenarios and sustained load profiles

  • Automated bottleneck detection identifying slow components, resource constraints, and scaling opportunities through metric analysis

  • Performance optimization dashboard providing actionable insights with tuning recommendations and capacity planning projections

Why This Matters: The Performance Measurement Gap

Netflix processes over 1 trillion events daily across their distributed systems. When their recommendation engine experienced a 50ms latency spike in 2021, it cascaded into a $1M/hour revenue impact. The issue? Insufficient performance visibility …
